How to choose between them
Shortlist three to five, request samples from each, and compare on four things: the real minimum per SKU, the per-unit cost at that minimum, who owns safety and compliance for your market, and reorder lead times. The cheapest minimum is not always the cheapest launch.
What is a "low" MOQ for skincare?
Anything from no minimum up to about 100–500 units per product. Several labs above start at 10–50 units or have no minimum at all.
Are low-MOQ manufacturers more expensive per unit?
Usually yes — smaller runs cost more each. The trade-off is far less upfront cash and risk while you validate demand.
Can I get custom formulas at low MOQ?
Some offer stock formulas you label (lowest minimums) and custom formulation (higher minimums). Start with stock to launch faster.
